BFC NC Summer Celebration Report

Camp Stillwater: Dunn, NC

Sheila and I just returned from a blessed weekend at the NC BFC Summer Celebration at Camp Stillwater in Dunn, NC.  We thank God for a safe trip and great riding weather.  We had NO RAIN for the entire trip up and back (600+ miles).  We were accompanied by Skip & Marie  and Chappy & Tina.

Friday night we had an awesome buffet dinner at Meadow's Restaurant, then came back to Stillwater for an annointed opening service.  Brother Ray Perez shared his testimony and brought us a message on unity.  Ray spent 15 years on the road with Barry Mayson.  We all got to know and love Ray throughout the weekend as he roomed across the hall from us in the lodge.  Please pray for God's continued blessing on Ray's ministry (and his household) and that he will be able to join us in SC at our rally next month!

Saturday afternoon we took part in an "evangelism class" by Pastor Dallas Morales.  He was a great teacher and showed us practical ways to share the gospel unashamedly to anyone that God brings across our path.  It was very similar to the approach we saw in the Kurt Cameron video that we played at RWCF last year.  Later that evening, the band "Second Chance" rocked the house with a powerful set before Pastor Z. presented the evening message.  If you have never heard any of their music, just keep your ears tuned after the Sunday service and I be playing a few tracks each week.

Sunday, after our "big biscuit breakfast", we saddled up and blasted through town 100+ strong over to Freedom Biker Church for morning worship.  FBC has out-grown the little 10x10 tent we saw them in two years ago and moved across town to a location about 15 miles away from the camp.  They have a great setup with a large steel multi-purpose building seating about 400.  The focus of the service was the "missions report" from all the members that went out to minister in Sturgis last month.  It was extremely moving to hear the testimonies from each one that spoke.  We then were treated to slides and an awesome video presentation of the highlights.  After the "Freedom team" finished, Paster Z shared his report along with many breath-taking slides.  God's creation is truly awesome.  After the service, it was back to Stillwater to dig into the NC BBQ that Howard and the crew had been cooking since 4am.  It was pretty good stuff...but of course can't compete with our SC BBQ....<grin>.  But that banana pudding was without a doubt...TO DIE FOR!

Sunday afternoon, the "Journey to Hope" service was filled again with great music and message.  "Living Proof" played some contempory worship music as well as some original material with a bluesy country style.  They also shared some powerful personal testimonies between songs.  Next we had a brief history lesson about the civil war from a brother we just call "Ski-man" (becasue none of us southern folk can pronounce Marchelewski).  He is the chapter elder all the way from Long Island, NY.  After that Fred Z. brought a brief word from the Lord...and then led us all down to the lake for a moving baptism service.  Again, we witnessed another miracle as Pastor Z. was able to baptize Bro.Will Radford from Virginia.  Anybody who has meet Z in person, know he is not a "large man".  Will, on the other hand, is about a foot taller the size of an NFL center.  Will is the best blocker I have ever met...when it comes to stopping traffic at the intersections during a ride, not to mention his love for racing back to the front of the pack before getting to the next red light!  Pray that Will can make the trip down along with Ray Perez for the Awakening.  He has on awesome testimony, as a former one-percenter, of how God's power can radically save!

Sunday evening was supposed to be a fun time fellowshipping and building ice cream sundies, but again Satan interfered.  The ice cream delivery people didn't show up to work that night...so the shop owner allowed his 16-year old daughter, Brandy, to deliver the ice cream to the camp.  She had only gotten her license two weeks earlier.  When the ice cream didn't show up, the camp director Jan drove up to get it.  Upon arrival she learned Brandy had been involved in a head-on collision on the way to Stillwater.  When Jan returned, we immediately formed a circle and starting praying fervently for Brandy and the other party involved.  The BFC NC state elder and Jan immediately left for the hospital while we ate are ice cream in a somber mood.  Later that evening, Jan informed us that both vehicles were totalled...but both drivers were released from the hospital as she and Paul arrived.  God is GOOD!

We were able to see many old friends and catch up on what God has been doing in their chapters, as well as meet many new brothers and sisters from NC, Maryland, Virginia, and NY.  Several of the NC boys asked about the SC event this year and were planning on coming down again.  Pastor Z informed me that he plans on being here as well.

Final plans are being put together now for AWAKENING 2008...more details will be posted soon.  Please go ahead and block the dates off on your calendars - OCTOBER 10,11,12.

Love and Respect,
Pastor Cary

P.S. Hope to have some photos from NC posted by next week.  Keep checking back!
